A bottle of chili sauce, help?

I am making something called Chili Coke Roast. The ingredients are 3-4 lb roast, 1 can of coke, I bottle of chili sauce, I package of onion soup mix. It cooks in the crock pot all day. My question is, what exactly is chili sauce, what am I buying? A whole bottle sounds like it would make the dish much too hot, but maybe I am thinking of pepper sauce, I don't know, what is a brand name for chili sauce, is it pepper sauce?
