NYC Freelance: Sole Prop, LLC, or LLC w/ S-Corp?

I live in NYC and just opened an LLC for my freelance work as a sound engineer. You can choose how you'd like to be taxed when you are an LLC, so you can be taxed as a sole proprietor or as an S or C corp. This is very convenient for small businesses. You can file the paperwork yourself instead of paying a lawyer to do it, if you'd like. Best of luck!
