Question about measurements of ingredients in baking...details inside...?

how much does 1 stick of er weigh???because I stumble upon across a recipe which says it needs 2 sticks of er...i take that recipe from martha stewart website...In Malaysia, we doesn't use stick as the measurement...we always weigh the ingredients..
