How do i replace thermal coupler on gas fireplace?

w/o seeing the application its kinda hard to say,but most are alike, should have a couple of hex head screws that hold the pilot embly, gas line,& thermal couple in place, remove the gas line from the gas valve, then remove the thermal couple from the gas valve, now remove the 2 screws from the cross bar and remove the pilot and thermal couple you may have to twist and turn it to get it out, don't bend the gas line,it will cross thread when you reinstall it,now that is all out, slide the old thermal couple out of the bracket and replace it w/ the new one, there is spacers and mounting hardware in the packet so use it if needed, after getting it back together, make sure you get the thermal couple at least 1/2" above the pilot embly to compensate for the flame, reinstall it just in the way you removed it just do it in reverse, now after reinstalling the gas line and thermal couple to the gas valve, turn the gas valve to the pilot position and light the pilot ,you may have to relight a couple of times before it will stay lit, then turn it to the on position and fire that puppy up
